• I'm so happy you've stopped by my blog! I hope you'll stay for a few minutes, take a look around, relax with a cold, bubbly beverage...

These days, I'm no longer working with clients. (What the future will bring, I cannot say!) You'll find me now at home, playing with my kids; and likely taking pictures of them, too!

{Hugs} and a huge thank you to the clients who have been so supportive over the years! I will miss shooting for you.

Friday’s for Family | Goosie’s first photo shoot

Today’s Friday is for Family blog is a little bit of a glance at the past — and an answer to a question I very frequently receive:  who is the baby girl whose face is all over my website?

Surprise, surprise, that’s my little daughter, “Goosie”.

Yes, I am guilty of taking advantage of the fact that I have two little kids with me all day, every day, and I tend to use them to experiment (with photography!).  This particular set of pictures, which you may notice is my current absolute favorite set, comes from a day back in January when my son was sleeping, my daughter was, obviously, not, and I decided to experiment with close-ups.  In particular I had set out with my macro lens to take close-ups of the parts that make up the whole — the eyes, the hands, feet — all those details that are so precious on a baby.  The goal:  to put together a collage (because sometimes it seems weird to have a single picture of just baby feet, all by itself!).

One of the things I most love about collages is how they can transform a couple of so-so pictures into a beautiful story.  For example, the pictures here of my daughter looking at her feet — as a collage, I think they tell such a cute story (I imagine captions like, “Hmm, no toys, what to do?”  ”Ah, I can play with my feet!”  ”Oh no, stupid socks.”).

You have become quite the photographer, Danielle! Your pics do tell a story, indeed…Of a mom who loves her adorable little girl. How precious these will be 20 years from now!

Love to you all,
Mrs. “D”
