When I load images from a shoot onto my computer, I’m not surprised to have 80 or 300 to sift through. Part of my job as your photographer, however, is to fill your gallery only with the best of those images! As I sift through, I’m looking for images that are not only technically strong, with good, interesting composition, but also that really show the personality. So I love a great smiling picture looking at the camera, but that serious expression looking away may be more true to the personalities involved. And when you hire a lifestyle photographer, you should expect images that show who you (or your child) really are.
In the end, I always end up with a few pictures that just don’t make the cut of the absolute best. They might be a little snap-shotty, or the focus could be a little soft. But nevertheless, there is something compelling about them.

These are a few of the outtakes from my photo shoot this past weekend. The unsteady walker, with parents looking on. A break for a yoga pose. Chasing down vehicles at the park, and stopping to pet a doggie. And of course, the ever-classic “I can push the stroller myself!” Since I try not to rush little kids, these little moments represent the majority of the time we spend shooting, waiting for the gems….
Hope these brought a smile to your face, M Family! They sure make me happy when I look at them.
